Major Requirements-Bachelor of Arts-Statistics

A total of 46 credits is required; 18 mathematics + 25 statistics + 3 computer science.
(No more than two courses with grade D can be counted toward the major.)

1. Computer Science 198:110 or 198:111
2. Mathematics 640:151; 152; 250; 251, and additional three credits in mathematics electives
(252 or a course at the 300 level or above, but not 477 or 481).
3. Statistics 960:381*; 382*; 384; 390; 463; 486; 490
4. Two courses chosen from 960:467; 476; 483

A total of 56 credits is required; 28 mathematics + 25 statistics + 3 computer science.
(No more than two courses with grade D can be counted toward the major.)

1. Computer Science 198:110 or 198:111
2. Mathematics 640:151; 152; 250; 251; 252; 311; 478 and additional three credits in mathematics electives
(300 level or above, but not 477 or 481).
3. Statistics 960:381*; 382*; 384; 390; 463; 486; 490
4. Two courses chosen from 960:467; 476; 483

*Mathematics 640:477 and 481 may be taken instead of Statistics 960:381, 382. Credit will not be given for both 01:640:477 and 01:960:381. Credit will not be given for both 01:640:481 and 01:960:382.

Sequence of Courses for Nonmajors

The sequence of courses in the study of statistics is related to a student's primary field of specialization. Students seeking credit for courses other than those for which their class and major qualify them must have the prior approval of the statistics undergraduate director and the dean of instruction, Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

Minor Requirements-Statistics

A minor in statistics consists of 960:390 and six additional courses in the Department of Statistics of which at least one must be at the 400 level. Neither 01:960:401 nor 01:960:484 may be used to fulfill this 400-level requirement. Students who complete 01:960:381 and 382 may count two terms of calculus toward the minor.

Level II Statistics

The Level II Statistics prerequisites for some courses may be fulfilled by 960:212 or 960:384 or 960:401 or 960:484 or the equivalent. Credit will not be given for more than one Level II Statistics course.
