Ph.D. U. of North Carolina. Teaching and research in data analysis methodologies, especially multivariate techniques including graphical and robust/resistant methods. Application interests include engineering and physical sciences, pattern recognition, and management science. Fellow of AAAS, ASA, IMS and RSS, and Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute. Former President of IMS and the International Assn. for Statistical Computing.
